TeamStrange Grand Tours 2024 (Eddie James Award)
It began with a good friend, NCRoadToad, introducing me to TeamStrange’s 40th Anniversary Grand Tour. I completed the Eddie James Award route; a letter hunt that sent me across the map to spell “TEAM STRANGE AIRHEADS 40” with city-limit and post-office signs, each letter from a different U.S. state, capped with a state Highway 40 marker from a state not used for any letter. Below are the qualifying shots (and some extras) and brief field notes; the miles between the letters are where the real story lives. The ride carried me from my home in Arizona to my farthest point in Grantsville, Maryland; along the way I rode the Appalachian Tour 2024 with friends and teamed up with my dad for much of it. We were two of just nine finishers that year.
Best moments
Inwood, WV USPS - the ladies there were super interested in the moto project, and invited me for an evening out. I politely declined, and met my friends to begin the Appalachian 2024 tour.
Anmoore, WV USPS - crashes & burned on the side of the road, with the Chief of Police walking out of the USPS right as I did it. He gave me his card, and told me war stories.
Roan Mountain, NC - loosing my brother after he made a wrong turn from inaccurate GPS point.
Spending time at Mountain View Motorcycle Campground with friends & meeting TheOldSheppard and my son.

Some fun photos captured along the way!
